This guide will walk you through creating payment presets in TT, which are a way to create repeatable transactions using a single QR code that can be scanned by multiple customers for quick and easy payments, streamlining the process for both you and your customers.
Payment presets offer various customisation options, including data collection, pricing, and changing the display text that appears on the customer’s device.
There are many reasons why a merchant might use payment presets. For instance, if you offer a service with a fixed price, or if you collect donations and want to allow donors to choose their own amount.
We’ll show you below how to create and customise your payment presets to suit your needs
Creating a payment preset #
To create a payment preset, you first need to hit the “Payment Preset” button on the TrustistTransfer homepage.

This will take you to the Payment Presets screen where all your payment presets will be listed. To create your first payment preset, hit the “Create New” button at the top.
This will take you to the Create Preset form, which provides all the configuration options for your payment preset.
Every preset requires a name, title text, and a form of pricing to be selected for it to be valid for creation.
In this form, you can modify the text title and subheading, which will be displayed to your customers when they scan the QR code.
You can also enable data collection options using the “Collect Payer Name” and “Comments Box” toggle switches. Enabling these will add new fields to your payment screen, allowing you to gather further information about the payer.

Finally, you can modify your pricing options. You have a few choices, including “Custom Amount Entry,” which gives your customers an empty field to enter the amount they want to pay.
You can also use the “Add Amount” button to add new fixed amount options. If you add only one amount, this will be the default payment that your customer will pay. If you add multiple amounts, a dropdown box will be added to the payment screen where your customer can select the payment amount that best suits them.
You can use these pricing options in conjunction with each other. The custom amount entry option will always take priority when the payment is initiated.
Once you have configured your payment preset, the ‘Save’ button will be enabled. Click it to save your preset.

Now that your payment preset has been saved, you will see this on the Payment Presets screen where you will find all of your saved payment presets.
Using your payment preset to take a payment
#
Next, we will show you how to take a payment using your new payment preset.
The first step is to go to the Payment Presets screen and click on the preset you want to use.

Next, click on the “Take Payment” button at the bottom of the preset screen.
This will then bring up the QR code for your preset. You can display this for your customers to scan and make a payment via your payment preset, or you can share the paylink.

Once the customer scans the QR code or follows the paylink, they will be brought to your payment preset.
After they click the ‘Continue’ button, they will proceed through the TrustistTransfer payment process.
From here, your customer will continue the payment process as if it were a one-off payment.

Deleting and Editing a Payment Preset #
Editing #
To edit your preset, select it from the list on the Payment Presets screen, then click the pen icon in the top left.

You will now see that the text fields have become editable, allowing you to make your changes.
Once you have made your changes, you can save the preset by clicking the green tick in the top right.
Deletion #
If you need to delete a preset, simply navigate to the preset and click the bin icon in the top right.

If you are sure you want to delete your preset, go ahead and click ‘Yes.’
Otherwise, press ‘No.’
You will now see that your payment preset has been successfully deleted from the Payment Presets screen.
