Sub-accounts are a way of inviting additional users to the TrustistTransfer platform and giving them the ability to take payments using your merchant account.
There are many reasons a merchant may wish to provide this functionality, for example a hospitality chain may wish to give individual access to their servers or an estate agent may have several branches that each need their own sub-account, with access given to multiple in each branch. Please contact us for additional advice about your own circumstances if required.
We’ll demonstrate below how to create a simple, single user sub-account and send an invitation to the person below.
Creating a Simple Sub-Account #
The sub-account list page can be accessed by clicking the person icon in the bottom toolbar, outlined in red here:
Once in the sub-accounts page you can see a list of previously-invited subaccounts, their status (invited/active) and have the ability to invite more:
Clicking on the “Add New” button navigates to the page where you can provide a name with which you identify the new sub-account. This could be the name of a person or a word used to describe the sub-division of your own organisation.
The invitation can be displayed as a QR code, which the user can scan with their own phone to register or shared using the common messaging functions available in the device you are using with the “Share Link” button. A quick email function is also provided, in case you don’t have email on your current device.
Once the invitation has been sent successfully you will be shown the confirmation screen and can either close the app or continue to work in it, there is no need to keep it on this screen anymore.
When the person receives the invitation and opens the contained URL, they will see the standard TrustistTransfer registration form, where they can create their user, configure a password and the required multi-factor authentication details.
Upon completion of this process they will be immediately able to take payments – there is no need for them to complete any further onboarding processes as they are a member of your merchant account now.
Once the person has registered their account you will be able to see the status of their invitation change from Invited to Active in the sub-account list:
